Dear Friends & Supporters of Southern Downriver Right to Life,
My wife and I recently visited a very stark & moving Holocaust Memorial near the Brandenburg Gate in the heart of Berlin, Germany. This Holocaust Memorial recalls the murder of over 6 million European Jews during WW II by Nazi Germany. Believe me, viewing this Memorial is a very sobering experience. After the war ended, the nations of the world vowed that this can never happen again.
And yet, since 1973 when legalized abortion became the law of the land in our country through the Supreme Court decision known as Roe V. Wade, over 55 million unborn children have had their lives ended in their mothers’ wombs. This for me is heart breaking. A mother’s womb should be the safest place in the world for a baby. We have to change this, and we have to change it peacefully through elections.
So for me, a candidate’s position on Right to Life Issues is the very first thing I look at when I’m trying to figure out who to vote for. And when you think about it, The Right to Life is the #1 Social Issue in America today. Fortunately for us, we have Right to Life of Michigan, the premier non-partisan Pro-Life organization in our state. And if you go to their WEB Site at www.RTL.org. you can get your very own personalized ballot which lists all the RTL of Michigan’s endorsed 100% Pro-Life candidates in your specific area. It’s really pretty cool! So please take advantage of this great tool, and VOTE Pro-Life on Aug.7th.
